Background
Rebecca has been a family nurse practitioner for over twenty-five years. As a young adult, she had the opportunity to volunteer in a slum-based clinic in Lima, Peru – the experience shaped the realization that her life’s work involved promoting health, and it was then that she decided to become a nurse practitioner. After studying nursing in college, she attended UC San Francisco where she received a master’s degree as a nurse practitioner. Shortly thereafter she obtained her board certification as a family nurse practitioner.
Rebecca spent a number of years working in family medicine in the Bay Area. In the mid 90’s, she and her husband moved to Seattle to raise their family and where she has worked in diverse settings, primarily in family medicine and pediatrics and in the emergency room.
In working with patients, Rebecca strives to empower people of all ages and walks of life to achieve their personal health goals. She believes the patient-provider relationship is one of collaboration and mutual respect where each can learn from the other. Additionally, she sees herself as an educator and health advocate. She welcomes being part of the Qliance team as it provides her with the opportunity to establish long term relationships with patients and their families. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family, singing in a choir, hiking and creative writing.
