Background
Dr. James Kerbacher is a trained, board-certified family physician with extensive experience in full-spectrum family medicine. Born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, James is a graduate of Kutztown State College with a B.S. in Biology in 1975. He attended West Virginia University in Morgantown,WV where he studied biochemistry. James was awarded a Master’s degree in 1978 and later earned his PH.D. in 1983, for his work in the field of biochemistry. His areas of research includes cytogenetics, microwave effects on biological systems, pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and the genetics of Lyme disease.
Fulfilling a life-long dream, James attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) graduating in 1997. He completed two fellowships at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Microbiology and also Pathology while attending UTHSCSA. During this time, James served as a research scientist and was later appointed to be an instructor. Following that, Dr. Kerbacher went on to complete his residency in Family Practice at Saint Luke’s Hospital Family Practice Center in Bethlehem,PA.
After 6 years at UTHSCSA, James began his private practice and performed as the private practice physician in family medicine for a rural community health clinic—the East Texas Medical Center located in Fairfield,Texas. In 2013, James relocated to Seattle with his wife and two daughters to come aboard Qliance and practice out of our downtown Seattle MDB clinic.
Dr. Kerbacher is thrilled to join Qliance and strongly believes that top-notch, accessible and affordable health care should be available to all. Empowering his patients to be as healthy as they can be. He is committed to partnering with his patients to make healthy changes that fit their lifestyle. Dr. Kerbacher has long been passionate about listening to and playing music as an accomplished violinist. James interests include running, music, practicing his spanish and taking long walks with his two dogs.
