Background
Dr. Roxanne Ho comes from a family dedicated to health care; she has four siblings who are physicians in family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology and psychiatry. Born and raised in southern California, Dr. Ho attended the University of California, San Diego where she earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry and cell biology with a minor in communications. In 2004, she graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and went on to complete the Family Medicine Residency Program at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. During this time, Dr. Ho earned the Academy of American Family Physicians National Poster Award, First Place, for studies in women’s health. Dr. Ho is especially interested in preventive care, diabetes, women’s health and pediatrics.
Dr. Ho joins Qliance after working as the primary care physician for her sister’s OB/Gyn practice in Tacoma and then running her own private practice for 2 years. During this time she did outpatient care for a diverse population, as well as providing hospital and obstetrical care. Dr. Ho is excited to be moving her practice to Qliance and becoming a part of the Qliance team, optimistic that direct primary care clinics like Qliance will be a model for high quality health care in the near future. Dr. Ho strongly believes that open access to knowledgeable and compassionate primary care physicians yields the best health outcomes. As a breast cancer survivor herself, Dr. Ho especially understands the effects of cancer on patients and their families. For that reason, Roxanne approaches primary care with compassion, thoughtfulness and respect for both patient and family.
As an example of her passion for improving patients’ access to care, Dr. Ho volunteers at the Rotacare Free Clinic, a center dedicated to treating chronic medical problems for those without insurance. She also enjoys spending her free time reading, cooking, fishing, and spending time with her husband and son.
