Dr. Courtney Johnson is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Denver School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from the University of the Pacific. Dr. Johnson completed her Residency in Seattle in 2000 during which time she received the Roy Virak Memorial Scholarship for her continued commitment to community service. Courtney’s enthusiasm for medicine began with an interest in mental health; during the early and mid 1990’s she worked as a mental health specialist and music therapist at the San Joaquin County Mental Health Center in Stockton, the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan in Denver and the Minirth-Meier Clinic in Burien.

Dr. Johnson’s focus on primary care started in 2000 at the Community Health Center of Snohomish County where she worked as a primary care physician with obstetrics. In 2002, Dr. Johnson began at the Holly Park Medical Clinic, a branch of International Community Health Services (ICHS) where she provided primary and obstetric care. During this time, Courtney served on the Service Advisory Board for ICHS’ HIV Early Intervention program.

Courtney’s passion for family medicine has kept her very active in the health care community. She has served on numerous programs and initiatives including the Country Doctor Community Clinic Diabetic Outreach Project, the Swedish Family Practice Residency Homeless Shelter Project, the WAFP Child and School Health Committee among others. She has also served as the Co-Founder of the Swedish Family Practice Residency Teen OB Clinic. Courtney became involved in quality systems and increasing the efficiency of medical clinics when she served as the Clinical Representative for the NextGen EMR Planning and Implementation team, Executive Sponsor and Pilot team member of the Institute for Health Care Improvement IMPACT team for Care Model Redesign. As medical Director of ICHS, she honed her knowledge of medical systems and quality.

Dr. Johnson is excited to join the Qliance team and values providing personalized, high quality and convenient care to all Seattle residents. She believes that the context in which people live directly impacts their health and that health care is more effectively delivered when this is addressed during an office visit. In addition to family medicine, she especially enjoys reproductive, international and preventive care. In her free time Courtney enjoys hiking, skiing and kayaking with her partner Peter and her daughter Freja. An accomplished cellist, Courtney enjoys listening to and playing in Russian symphonies. Dr. Johnson is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice.
