Background

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Marcie Hamrick, MD excitedly moved to Seattle in 1999 after earning her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She began her Family Medicine residency at Swedish Hospital/45th St Clinic and completed her training in 2002, becoming Board Certified in Family Medicine at that time.

Since then, Dr. Hamrick has worked in a variety of settings including rural Alaska, community health clinics, Swedish Physicians, and in private practice at an integrative health clinic working alongside naturopaths, acupuncturists, midwives, and mental health providers.

Dr. Hamrick has a special interest in mind-body medicine, and has been trained in biofeedback, mindfulness meditation, and yoga therapy. She also has an interest in integrative medicine, acknowledging that people’s health is often served best using a combination of traditional allopathic and other alternative therapies such as acupuncture. Marcie has been on the faculty of Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine and Bastyr Center for Natural Health.

She is very excited to be working for Qliance, a company she feels is working to change the quality of primary care in the face of a broken healthcare system. Qliance is allowing physicians such as herself to practice the way she intended to practice when she went to medical school—taking time getting to know her patients and looking at the root cause of symptoms rather than masking them with medications.

In her free time, Dr. Hamrick enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, and snowshoeing, practicing yoga, practicing and teaching mindfulness meditation, cooking, and taking long walks with her dog Ruby.

A Quote from Dr. Marcie Hamrick

I’m so happy to be part of this revolutionary idea – that spending time with people and supporting them fully in making healthy choices is good medicine.”
~Marcie
